Job Title: MEP Manager

Location: Mesa, AZ (Onsite)

Duration: Full time

Summary/Objective

The MEP Manager is responsible for managing the safety, quality, and conformance of all MEP scope on the construction project. The MEP Manager is to be involved in preconstruction activities to ensure consistency with other projects, review constructability, and provide Value Engineering ideas as needed.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in the development of the project specific requirements related to MEP including the interface between process, building, design, and construction.

2. Review client’s specific operational requirements and interface with project team to ensure design coordination.

3. Assist the project team in examining all documents for constructability, seeking out suspected design deficiencies, impractical details, and code violations if possible. Bring all concerns to the attention of the project team and recommend a resolution.

4. Review MEP specifications and drawings including BMS requirements.

5. Estimate and scope MEP trades during pre-construction.

6. Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/modifications as they relate to the MEP trades.

7. Manage and lead MEP subcontractors throughout duration of the project (from Groundbreaking through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner).

8. Assist in developing detailed CPM schedules for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading.

9. Work with Superintendent on project logistics and temporary facility plans.

10. Review and approve material and equipment for MEP systems prior to installation.

11. Monitor the installation and start-up of MEP systems and commissioning of project with Engineer & Owner.

12. Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with Project Manager and Field Staff.

13. Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed.

14. Represent KBD Group in regard to the MEP process at Owner’s and contractors meetings.

15. Work together with the BIM Coordinator to resolve all MEP related conflicts prior to start of installations.

16. Take overall responsibility for the performance of all MEP trades.

17. Supervise review and coordination of all MEP submittals and shop drawings.

18. Prepare budgeting and estimating including quantity take-offs as needed in MEP trades. Prepare comparative cost analysis and value engineering alternatives.

19. Communicate with MEP subcontractors both verbally and in writing during the pre-construction phase to explain the scope.

20. Assist in preparing MEP subcontractor evaluations and scope of work documents. Participate in subcontractor interviews and negotiations.

21. Assist commissioning process towards hand over of the facility to client.

22. Participate in shop drawing and submittal reviews, Requests for Information, change order review, and coordination.

23. Assist in project execution for conformance with all contract documents and to ensure that the deliverable meets the requirements.

24. Develop procedures and documentation to provide for confirmation that systems function to the project requirements and provide the client with a smooth transition to operations.

25. Assure that the Company’s standard of quality is established and maintained throughout the project.

26. Perform additional assignments as required by the operating needs of the Business Unit or as directed by the Business Unit Leader or Regional Manager.

Qualifications

1. 5 years of experience as an MEP Project Manager in Construction/MEP Coordination,

2. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.

3. Good understanding of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low-voltage systems,

4. Solid understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of project,

5. Hands-on experience in design, engineering, assembling, or start-up with a manufacturing facility.

6. Solid communication skills, with the ability to read, write and converse with contacts in all levels.

7. Basic knowledge of Process Piping, HVAC, Ventilation, and Exhaust Systems for Manufacturing facilities.

8. Experience using CAD software a plus.

9. Ability to prioritize well and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

10. Willing to take ownership of responsibilities.

11. Must be eligible to work in the United States and do not require sponsorship now or in the future.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
