Job description
As an Estimator, you will be a vital member of preconstruction team, the get work gurus. You will help build our company’s portfolio by utilizing your attention to detail and time management skills to produce timely, accurate, and thorough estimates for projects throughout Colorado and Wyoming. We are looking for you to be a part of our get work initiative by estimating plumbing, sheet metal, mechanical, hydronic, and process piping systems.
Your Day-to-Day
You will estimate design-build and plan and spec mechanical projects of varying size levels and system types, including process piping systems, utility piping, plumbing, HVAC systems, duct work, and equipment.
You will be required to look at key measures such as labor needs, time and material specifications, and equipment needs.
You will utilize QuickPen for take-offs, and work in Excel and BlueBeam for each bid estimate.
You will be responsible for soliciting, evaluating, and preparing bid proposals in the most attractive manner to general contractors and owners.
You will be expected to work collaboratively with the Estimating staff, Preconstruction staff, as well as the Purchasing Department, and be the liaison between Estimating and Field Operations, for pre-bid and post-bid review and project turnovers.
You will be responsible for managing simultaneous subcontractor and equipment quotes and understand construction field conditions and project schedules.

· Our ideal candidate should possess the following traits:
· Experience in estimating Institutional, Laboratory, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, and Industrial related projects
· Experience managing multiple project simultaneously
· Experience estimating mechanical systems
· Highly skilled in reading and understanding drawings, specifications, and bid documents
· Ability to accurately compile a summary of materials, equipment, and labor
· Experience working in QuickPen is preferred
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· A technical degree and/or equivalent combination of technical training/field experience with knowledge of estimating techniques is required.
