  • BSA Harrington Cancer Center is a state-of-the-art, 48,000-square-foot facility with two new linear accelerators for radiation treatments, 24 patient exam rooms, 28 heated chemotherapy infusion chairs and three private infusion rooms for families.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating/prior authorizing all Gastroenterology procedures at the request of the provider.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the prior authorization process with insurance companies.
  • Responsibilities include collecting all necessary documentation, contacting the patient for additional information, and completing the required prior authorization process to proceed with testing.
  • Notify patients of appointments and providing any instructions needed.
  • Responsible for entering/documenting insurance prior authorization information into the EHR.
  • Perform additional responsibilities by contacting insurance carriers to verify patient’s insurance eligibility, benefits, and requirements. 
  • Request, obtain, and follow up on prior authorization on services being performed from insurance carriers within the time allotted for medical services/procedures.
  • Communicate with other facilities and schedule appointments for outpatient testing.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months minimum experience in good customer service and people interaction
  • Scheduling/Prior Authorization related experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and extensive knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred Job Requirement:

  • One (1) year previous scheduling experience
