Summary: Manages lamination and plant logistics operations, develops and directs Team Leaders and provides leadership and direction for lamination and plant logistics department.

Key Accountabilities:

• Helps with production schedule to determine sequence of items to be completed. Coordinates schedule with the appropriate authority to revise schedule if necessary
• Determines manpower and resources needed to meet schedule. Communicates with warehouse, scheduling, etc. as necessary to obtain materials and assures that needed materials (order, films, resins, etc.) are readily available when needed
• Schedules and approves vacations for Team Leaders. Manages laminating production and plant logistics and monitors shift performance through Team Leaders and provides assistance to Team Leaders as necessary either by phone or in person
• Assists in improving training systems
• Assures that equipment is maintained in appropriate working order. Reports problems and/or requests for needed repairs to Maintenance and/or Engineering. Communicates with Maintenance in establishing and instituting preventive maintenance program
• Works closely with production personnel to maintain awareness of print related issues affecting lamination and logistics performance. Seeks corrective actions for problems and follows up to ensure effectiveness of solutions
• Evaluates production problems that hinder or block attainment of quality and/or efficiency objectives. Communicates with appropriate personnel throughout the Company to gain or convey information necessary to correct problems
• Executes company personnel policies and procedures and works with Human Resource personnel as needed to effectively resolve employee problems, conflicts, etc. Directs department activities with utmost regard for employee health and safety
• Develops and maintains department budget and approves all expenditures for lamination and logistics departments within approval limits
• Evaluates 5S buffer zones and project trackers to ensure effectiveness of these areas
• Effectively communicates Company's mission and production results, organizational changes and other pertinent information to Team Leader and hourly personnel
• Assists in developing and implementing a comprehensive training program for the lamination and logistics departments
• Maintains monthly project report
• Assists with new equipment purchases, installations, start-ups, and qualifications as requested
• Provides guidance and assistance in trouble-shooting production and process problems. Develops resolutions to prevent reoccurrence
• Serves as an on-site resource for lamination and logistics issues
• Development and growth of present processes
• Assists in developing continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and 5S
• Participates in management teams in the development of goals and directions for the business segment
• Assists in maintaining Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification as applicable
• Maintains work areas and related equipment in a neat and orderly manner
• Performs other related work as required
