Bryant Associates, Inc is Hiring a SURVEY TECHNICIAN Near Lincoln, RI

SUMMARY:

As a Survey Technician, you will be an integral part of Bryant Associates Land Survey Department in our Lincoln, RI office, where we provide our clients with a full-range of surveying and mapping services. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Survey Technician will be engaged in a variety of land surveying projects both in the office and field including assisting with basic research of record with regards to property ownership and utilities and assist the Party Chief in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys. 

RESPONSIBILTIES: (Other duties May Be Assigned)

  • Assist the Party Chief with all aspects of the daily crew assignment 
  • Operate, on occasion, various surveying instruments
  • Maintain survey equipment and supplies
  • Assist in collecting data from public records and field measurements 
  • Maintain office files and supplies
  • Assist in project deliverables as appropriate
  • Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations
  • Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology
  • Complete internal and external training as require

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Basic understanding of the use of computers and mathematics
  • Desire to work in a team environment.
  • Observes company and client safety requirements.
  • Ability to pass a drug test

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Supplemental course in surveying a plus

TRAVEL:

May be required to work as a field crew member and travel to local/regional job sites

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office (20%): 

  • The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation
  • Some lifting and standing is required
  • Employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds

Field – (80%) 

  • Ability to work outdoors and safely perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Must be able to use hands to handle and/or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Talk, hear, and communicate clearly
  • Lift and move 50 pounds
