A Social Worker III – After Hours provides child and adult protective services to the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This position also provides these services for the community when the agency is closed. The normal schedule for this position is every other week, starting Friday afternoon (3:30 PM) and ending the following Friday morning (8:30 AM). The After-Hours team is comprised of four social workers and a supervisor, with two social workers assigned to work each week. Job responsibilities include: Responding to all calls made to the agency after normal business hours under the supervision of the On Call Supervisor.Initiating new and existing Adult and Child Protective Services reports. Assessing the safety of children and adults and take appropriate action per policy.Completing timely, concise, detailed documentation.Completing case initiations, follow-up home visits, interviews, and other requests as assigned by the supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of child welfare policies and legal mandates Knowledge of social work and practices and principles (particularly strengths-based)Working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteAssessments SkillsCommunication Skills (oral and written) Organizational SkillsCritical thinking SkillsThere will be a significant amount of time spent in family homes and in the community. Must be available to work during emergency situations.
