Responsibilities

New hybrid work opportunity for a Software Engineer with a diverse range of experience in the software development lifecycle, including conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, testing, documentation, delivery, and maintenance.

    Analyze, assess, and rewrite existing codebase in C /QT.
  • Collaborate with product stakeholders to document software requirements and outline design and development plans for new and enhanced features.
  • Estimate the feasibility of software designs within time and cost constraints and implement programming solutions.
  • Engage in all phases of the product lifecycle, from initial conception through to maintenance.
  • Address and refactor technical debt and refine coding methodologies and best practices.
  • Assist the product owner in mapping new features, focusing on:
  • User experience based on journey and decision-making hierarchies.
  • Clean and modern UI design that also translates well to web-based applications.
  • Integration of statistical analysis and graphing features.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related STEM discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive software development work experience within a life science systems organization.
  • Proficiency in C is essential. QT-qml preferred.
  • Experience in developing thin UIs using QT, specifically for desktop applications compatible with both PC and Mac.
  • A strong background in Image Analysis is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Technical diagnostic skills including problem investigation, reproduction, and resolution.
  • Ability to develop product requirements and standards documentation.
  • Familiarity with development and bug tracking tools such as ADS and/or Jira.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills.
  • Knowledge of ImageJ and MATLAB is a plus.
  • Proven ability to contribute effectively to project management and oversee contract developers.
  • Demonstrated skill in assessing and enhancing existing architecture.
  • Highly motivated, self driven, and committed to professional growth, works with minimal supervision and integrates well into a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication and presentation skills, with fluent English and ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a global work environment with diverse teams and stakeholders and build positive business relationships with all parties.
  • Proven ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and successfully manage accountability for multiple projects and stakeholders.

  • Operates with a high standard of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete position training requirements.
  • Reliable transportation and valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required.

  • Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and international travel.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
