Overview:
The Industrial Millwright Foreman oversees the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment in industrial settings. They lead a team of skilled millwrights, ensuring that all mechanical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices. The Industrial Millwright Foreman plays a key role in managing resources, coordinating work activities, and ensuring the smooth operation of industrial facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of millwrights, providing guidance, direction, and support to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Assign tasks, prioritize work orders, and coordinate daily activities to optimize productivity and resource utilization.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for skill development and training.
  • Installation and Maintenance:
  • Oversee the installation, assembly, and alignment of machinery and equipment according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and inspections to ensure the reliability and longevity of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support to resolve mechanical issues and minimize downtime.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to promote a culture of safety among team members and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to educate workers on safety best practices and hazard recognition.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and audits, identify safety hazards, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Resource Management:
  • Coordinate with project managers, planners, and procurement to schedule work activities, allocate resources, and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order necessary materials and supplies, and maintain proper stock levels to support ongoing maintenance and repair activities.
  • Manage subcontractors and external service providers as needed, ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment history.
  • Document equipment modifications, repairs, and upgrades, including parts used, labor hours, and associated costs.
  • Prepare reports and updates for management, detailing project status, progress, issues, and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a millwright, with a minimum of [X] years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in an industrial setting.
  • Journeyman certification or trade qualification as a millwright.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment, including installation, maintenance, and repair procedures.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
