BMG has an opening for a Painter in our manufacturing facility located in Beaverton, MI. As a Painter, you will be responsible of preparation of machine part areas that need to be coated: wash parts with soap, thinner, power washer and water. Mask and paint machine parts and completed machines. Mix paint properly to ensure proper bonding and coverage. This position directly impacts the appearance and durability of the customer products.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Receive work assignments.
2. Wash parts as required and mask if necessary for painting.
3. Using a hand truck, fork truck or hoist, move parts to spray booth.
4. De-mask, check for quality and put traveler with parts and forward to proper department.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
2. Six months of related experience preferred.
3. Able to operate a hand lift truck and hoist, and a fork truck.
4. Basic computer skills preferred.
5. Have a working knowledge of: HV LP spray equipment, air spray equipment, marking tape, washing solvents, assorted wrenches and tools, face masks, etc.
6. Able to work an off shift preferred.

ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Lift, push, and pull up 35 to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Walk for extended periods of time.
• May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform sustained manual activities at low to moderate levels of exertion.
• Must be able to access and navigate within each department at the organization’s facilities (i.e. climb stairs, ladders, etc.)
