Our environment encourages individual growth and innovative thought. We are seeking an experienced full-time Pile Driver to assist with heavy civil construction project activities with an emphasis on bridges in the Alexandria, LA area.

Requirements

Responsibilities :

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Attention and commitment to safety
• Assists in unloading and assembling of crane and pile driving equipment (hammer, leads, etc.) to be used in pile driving activities.
• Unload and handle various types of piling (concrete, pipe, H-pile, timber and sheet piling)
• Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones (roadway flagging)
• Lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools (maintenance)
• Wears PPE safety equipment

Required Qualifications :

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a pile driver working on bridge-related construction
• Experience with rigging heavy loads using slings, cable chokers, spreader bars, and multi-part load blocks.
• Experience using oxygen / acetylene cutting torch to cut steel plates, pipes, beams, etc.
• Experience welding / fabricating templates
• Experience with rigging heavy loads, welding and safety
• Have a valid driving license
• Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
• Must pass an extensive drug screening
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention and commitment to safety

Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands :

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue;

and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.

The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
