Job Description

Brown & Hofmeister, L.L.P., a Texas law firm with extensive experience providing legal services to public and private clients throughout the state, is seeking an Associate Attorney with an interest in municipal law matters. The candidate should be hard-working, team oriented, and a self-starter with the ability to work on issues with little guidance. 

This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys who are looking for new challenges and an opportunity to expand their skillset working for a prestigious Texas municipal law firm. 

 Job Description

The Associate Attorney will perform professional civil municipal legal work involving a wide variety of legal issues, cases, and projects. Attorneys in this classification will work independently on legal matters and will work with more experienced attorneys on more complex legal matters. 

Job Requirements

The Associate Attorney will be expected to provide solid legal advice and assistance in the following areas of municipal law: Public Information Act, contracts, labor and employment, litigation, court prosecution, real estate, eminent domain, environmental, finance, constitutional law, statutory interpretation and compliance, and land use. 

Qualifications:

  • A J.D. degree form an ABA-accredited law school
  • A current bar admission
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a practicing attorney or an attorney currently employed in a city or county government
  • Trial and trial preparation experience is a plus
  • Superior written and oral communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

The successful candidate will be provided a rewarding career and opportunity in a welcoming environment. They will also receive a generous and competitive total compensation package, with a salary range of $80K – $150K. Compensation will be dependent on the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications. Discretionary bonuses may be awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance.
