WHAT WILL I DO?
- Conduct visual inspections of damaged vehicles to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.
- Identify all necessary repairs and replacements required to restore the vehicle to pre-accident condition.
- Calculate repair/replacement costs by considering labor hours, parts, materials, and other services required for each vehicle repair.
- Provide concise and accurate estimates to customers and adjustors.
- Determine salvage value of total loss vehicles.
- Create comprehensive repair plans outlining required steps, parts, and labor required to complete repairs according to established timelines.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a Collision Estimator or in a similar role within the automotive repair industry is required.
- Proven experience working with insurance companies is preferred.
- A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR), and other relevant certifications are preferred.
