Job Title: Risk Manager/ Loss control Specialist
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Public Risk Underwriters of NJ
Summary:
Reporting to a manager, director or PCL, the purpose of risk management is to mitigate client risk be identifying and managing threats to their respective business objectives. Applies common principles, skills and activities that guide the risk management function.
Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Design and implement an overall risk management process for the client.
Conduct site visits of client premises.
Manage the process of identifying and assessing the risks affecting the client's business.
Oversea and implement the plan of risk control actions (training, inspections, health and safety measures, PEOSH regulatory training and liaison with regulators, business continuity plans, park and playground inspections, model policies and procedures)
Develop and maintain individual and client safety training participation records.
Develop and institute web-based training.
Monitor, evaluate and challenge the client’s success in managing its risk.
Organize appropriate risk reporting, internally and externally.
Participation in client safety committee meetings.
Coordinate with internal and external risk management professionals.

Safety and security—the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

Required
Minimum Associates or Bachelor degree
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
3 years experience in a similar position
NJ Property & Casualty license
Loss control certifications of training in PEOSH , OSHA, Defensive driving, playground.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred
Experience in public entity risk management and loss control services.
Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:
Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day.
Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day.
Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor and for driving
Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day.
Ability to drive vehicle up to 8 hours per day.
