Brown & Brown has an exciting opportunity available for a Benefits Account Specialist supporting our Milwaukee, WI team!

The Benefits Specialist will assist in servicing the benefit consulting responsibilities of the Employee Benefit clients. This includes administrative and technical functions to assist in marketing, renewals, and daily service to retain present clients.

This is an hourly position, requiring a hybrid schedule out of the MKE office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Assist with onboarding new clients, compliance, benchmarking, renewal & marketing, reporting & analytics
  • Assist clients with daily service functions and frequent ad hoc requests.
  • Create, review and edit employee benefit guides, benefit manuals and other client materials as requested.
  • Creates and maintains strong relationships with vendors.
  • Prepares and submits client utilization and financial reporting to Consultants and to client.
  • Reviews insurance circulars and bulletins to keep current on changes in the industry.
  • Confers with team to identify, plan and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 1-2 years’ related experience with understanding and knowledge of employee benefits
  • Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License within one year of employment.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking ability
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgement
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to meeting client requirements.
