Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Optometric Assistant to join our team. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our optometrists and ensuring the smooth operation of our optometry practice. Duties: - Assist with patient intake and registration, including collecting medical history and verifying insurance information - Perform preliminary tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and lensometry - Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits - Assist optometrists during eye examinations and procedures - Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care - Assist with contact lens fittings and orders - Maintain accurate and organized medical records using electronic systems (Epic) - Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues - Process sales transactions for eyewear and optical products using retail math skills - Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality Requirements: - Previous experience in a medical or retail setting preferred - Familiarity with ophthalmology or optical terminology is a plus - Proficient in using electronic medical record systems (Epic) - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members - Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient privacy We offer competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
