Summary:
Provides a key role in facilitating the long-term success of the clinical documentation improvement (CDI) program with the day-to-day oversight of the CDI workflows. Supervises the CDI team to ensure the medical record contains clear, consistent, and accurate clinical documentation that supports the coding process in attaining appropriate DRG assignments reflecting the patient's severity of illness and risk of mortality. Supports ongoing communication and education on documentation opportunities to physicians, residents, AHPs, and hospital staff.

Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing or medical school BSN, PA or Doctor of Medicine required.

Experience:
Essential:

1 year related Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience with Doctor of Medicine

2 years related Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience required with PA

5 years related Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience with BSN

7 years related Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience required with RN

Credentials:

State of Florida Registered Nurse (RN) or State of Florida Physician Assistant (PA) or Foreign medical graduate of school of medicine

CCCDS- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (ACDIS) or CDIP- Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (AHIMA)
