Broward College is Hiring a Technical and Administrative Support Specialist, CTEL Part-Time Near Fort Lauderdale, FL

Job Description Summary
Under immediate supervision, this position is responsible for providing administrative and technical support for the department.
Minimum Education:
  • Associate's Degree required.
Minimum Experience/Training:
  • Three years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Foreign language and experiences of working in multi-cultural environment preferred.
Essential Functions:
  • Daily - 25%: Performs and administers wide range of staff and/or operational support activities for the unit including: Coordinating files, correspondence email, and spreadsheet management for Faculty Professional Development Cycles. Coordinates logistics for workshops, training programs, webinars, meetings, orientations, and college wide events. Handles scheduling, marking attendance, and course creation in Workday.
  • Daily - 5%: Processes Faculty Professional Development Applications and responds to inquiries regarding faculty professional development.
  • Daily - 5%: Utilizes current web authoring tools and follows college IT guidelines in coordination with other web page managers to: create, design and maintain content on college websites, post web announcements and events of upcoming workshops and programs. Integrate other software with SharePoint platform or the college's other content management system.
  • As needed - 20%: Composes and edits correspondence and/or memoranda from verbal direction, or from knowledge of established department/division policies
  • Daily - 20%: Prepares or assists with the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical and narrative reports; performs general information gathering and analysis and/or forecasting in accordance with pre-established procedures.
  • 10% - Creates and edits marketing material including, but not limited to, flyers and videos.
  • Daily - 10% - Creates requisitions, spend authorizations, expense reports for CTEL personnel. Establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and/or other documents in a manner that ensure preservation of the integrity, validity, and accuracy of unit data.
  • Weekly- 5%: Creates department communications for course offerings, new tools, and information sessions, via web postings, emails, announcements, and similar media.
  • Other - 5%: Trains and assist in coordinating work-study and/or part-time staff.
  • Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
