Job Summary: As a Day Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store during daytime hours. Your responsibilities will include cleaning various areas of the store, such as restrooms, break rooms, and public areas, to ensure a safe and inviting environment for customers and employees. Examples of Duties: 

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors, to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. 

• Empty trash bins and replace liners in designated areas, ensuring proper disposal of waste. 

• Sweep and mop floors in aisles, entryways, and other public areas to remove debris and maintain cleanliness. 

• Clean and sanitize break rooms, including tables, chairs, and appliances, to provide a clean and comfortable space for employees. 

• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including shelves, counters, and display cases, to remove dirt and grime. 

• Replenish cleaning supplies and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management. 

• Follow cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and thorough manner. 

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and sanitation. 

Knowledge: 

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products. 

• Understanding of safety protocols and procedures for handling cleaning chemicals. 

• Familiarity with proper sanitation practices and guidelines. 

Skills: 

• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and address areas in need of cleaning and sanitation. 

• Time Management: Skill in prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to complete cleaning duties within designated timeframes. 

• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management regarding cleaning tasks and any maintenance issues. 

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and lift heavy objects as needed during cleaning tasks.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent. 

• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not required. 

• Availability to work daytime hours, including weekends and holidays. 

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching. 

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and products, as well as safety protocols for handling cleaning chemicals.
