Job Title: Benefits Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY
Lead team members, program partners, agents, and customers through the issuing, renewing, and documentation of employee benefits policies in a way that is conducted proper and efficient. Develop internal workflows to provide an excellent employee and customer experience. Work alongside staff and customers to make coverage recommendations and coordinate billing and policy issue. Work with payroll customers, staff, and software partners to develop a seamless benefit coordination and enrollment through our payroll service.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop internal workflow for policy issue, renewal, billing, and documentation for each employee benefit product and program partner.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of all carrier and customer portals and provide staff, agent, and customer training.
  • Advise partner agencies, internal staff, and customers on benefit plans that best serve our clients.
  • Develop and maintain a smooth benefits and payroll coordination in partnership with management, and then Affiliates team.
  • Lead and coordinate all employee benefit program partner appointments and assure these are in place properly and in compliance.
  • Provide service and workflow oversight for Open Enrollment, renewals, and mid-year changes for Employee Benefits.
  • Maintain superior knowledge of internal software systems and work with providers, Affiliate Management, and Information Technology to make system recommendations and improvements.
  • Provides excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Manage Employee Benefit projects alongside Affiliate Operations and Sales Management as needed.
  • Attend benefits product training, workflow development workshops, and other personal and professional development as recommended by management.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

  • Must possess strong prioritization and project management skills and work well under pressure.
  • Must demonstrate superior aptitude of internal customer management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Must have good judgment and the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Must be able to strictly guard confidential information.
  • Must be able to understand insurance company products and operations.
  • Must uphold the company's image and professional standards in all interactions with agents, customers, employees, and other members of the public.
  • Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • An Associate's degree is required.
  • Must have at least three years of Employee Benefits experience
  • Must have experience with CRM and other agency and carrier management systems.
  • Must be willing to obtain both a P&C and L&H agent license, and fulfill needed continuing education requirements to maintain these licenses.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain industry designations.
  • Prior church or ministry leadership positions of any type is desired.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree is desired.
