The cornerstone of Brotherhood Crusade’s work is helping low-income under-served residents and vulnerable individuals such as seniors and youth improve their quality of life through the provision of trauma-informed youth development programs, services for the elderly, remedial education, services for the homeless, health education, financial education, appreciation & awareness of arts and cultural, physical fitness & nutrition, life & social skills training, diversity appreciation training, employment readiness & job placement, counseling, and the provision of emergency food, clothing, and shelter. Brotherhood Crusade also supports efforts to boost the capacity and effectiveness of small grassroots nonprofits that provide essential services for youth.

Responsibilities

  • Administer initial enrollment procedures that include: reviewing applications, identifying youth and family needs, and preparing the individual youth development plan
  • Administer pre, mid, and post assessments, quarterly surveys, and on-going summary sheets
  • Advocate for youth and their family to ensure they receive cultural and age-appropriate youth development services
  • Maintain and update the youth development plan that includes relevant program schedules
  • Facilitate data collection and feedback in accordance with the monitoring and evaluation program
  • Conduct classroom and home visits on a regular, on-going basis as scheduled
  • Retrieve incident reports, academic results, and surveys from the youth’s school, parents, and social affiliations
  • Input observations, exercise results, notes, and other pertinent data into the tracking system.
  • Report issues, incidents, or problems to the youth’s parents / caregivers as well as to the administration, as appropriate
  • Interact with the youth’s school, parents/caregivers, and role models
  • Make referrals to and receive referrals from collaborative partners (mental health, physical activity, educational services, counseling and therapy, etc.)
  • Prepare daily / weekly sign-in sheets for youth and collaborative partners
  • Ensure the safety of the youth at all times
  • Understand and comply with all of Brotherhood Crusade’s childcare policies
Qualifications
  • Solutions-driven approach to problem solving
  • Strong organization, planning, and execution skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Successful experience working across diverse verticals and teams
  • Minimum one year experience working with at-risk youth
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing outstanding customer service
  • Passion and commitment to betterment of all individuals especially low income and at-risk
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Successful experience working with most at-risk and vulnerable populations
  • Valid driver license and clean driving record
  • Clean criminal record
  • Bilingual / Spanish a plus

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid California Driver's License. Bilingual (Spanish and English) applicants are preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EQUIPMENT USED

The successful candidate will be required to report to and work from the office complex at least five days a week. Offices are traditionally equipped with computers, telephones, desks, chairs, and office machines. Additionally, each office offers an instructional classroom from which orientations and trainings are conducted.

SALARY RANGE:

This is a dynamic full-time position that will be defined in its entirety as the program develops. Benefits and salary will be negotiated based on experience, education, and the needs of the program.

SCHEDULE

Must be available to work Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm and Tuesday and Thursday, 11:00am –8:00pm and 2nd and 4th Saturday of the Month from 9:00am – 1:00pm. No exceptions.

COVID SCHEDULE

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the center hours are from 9:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday and there may be a hybrid schedule where one day may be virtual. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid California Driver's License.

Due to our in-person and in office work with LAUSD, City of LA, County of LA and other work partners that require our team to be vaccinated we require that all potential candidates must be COVID-19 vaccinated with either, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.
