Position SummaryBrookwood seeks an outstanding world language teacher that has a deep knowledge of child development and best practices for teaching Spanish in grades 5-8, exceptional written/verbal communication skills, and an infectious sense of fun. Dedicated to graduating students with cultural competency, Brookwood actively pursues candidates with a strong focus on multiculturalism, equity and inclusion. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Spanish and a solid understanding of the ACTFL Communication Modes (Interpersonal, Presentational and Interpretive) and proficiency levels. This position involves teaching a variety of levels from grade 5 to grade 8 and possibly serving as an Upper School Advisor in Grades 6-8 and/or World Language Department Coordinator. Brookwood seeks a language teacher who will enthusiastically contribute to our language program that is rooted in communicative language teaching and competency-based assessment. The candidate will put students’ needs at the center of decision-making, will be a self-reflective educator who models a growth mindset, and will be an inspiration to and collaborator with a high-performing faculty.
