Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff (Assisted Living) is Hiring a Director of Resident Care Near Woodruff, SC

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Director of Care to oversee the care and well-being of our residents. As the Director of Care, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of caregivers, ensuring that all residents receive the highest quality of care. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of senior care.

Duties

  • Be aware of and enforce the DHEC regulations
  • Uphold and enforce all Policies & Procedures-Hold staff accountable
  • Communication-do not put anything (new policy/procedure) into place prior to talking to the regional ED. DRC must have intimate knowledge of these so that they can adequately explain them.
  • INSPECT WHAT YOU EXPECT
  • On call 24/7
  • MOD rotation
  • Come in early 2 days a week (by 7am)/stay late(6pm) 2 days-NOT THE SAME DAYS AS RCC
  • Daily rounds Must be completed 1 thing when you arrive at work, and then every 2 hours a round of the entire community and checking in with the supervisors before you leave for the day is the last thing round. DRC should be on the floor a minimum of 5 times a day-cleanliness of the community in closets under cabinets, and window seals-go in residents rooms look how the staff is completing the daily tidy
  • MOD in the dining room
  • Be at the community prior to the NP/podiatrist/pharmacy.....ect. Welcome them be prepared always-Call families about all new orders/message on crew updating staff regrading new orders/file new orders **MUST BE DONE THE SAME DAY**
  • Cart Audits-physically go to each cart and do the audit with the MT-be hands on and interactive with the MT/teach them and guide them. Even once you think they are 100% trained you must still do this with them. You should be in each cart every single week, no questions.
  • Pharmacy delivery sheets filed properly keep for 30-45 days (about 6 weeks)
  • Residents Charts-DHEC ready-Care plans are up to date-H&P dated within one year-Quarterly Orders signed-
  • Thin charts every 3 months-the more DHEC has to look at the more mistakes they could find. Keep those charts thin.
  • All residents have pictures in the chart and quick mar the day of admission
  • Update Laundry/Shower/Incont. And all other tools that PCA & MT use on the floor-on the day of admission
  • Keep the Hospice & Home Health list updated-Check it daily to ensure it is accurate we need to know who is coming in and out of our building always.
  • Review all Incident reports and then ensure-Alert charting is being done-post falls and acute issues (refer to therapy or add to NP list if needed)
  • Missed medication and Orders to be Verified on Quick Mar-Review every morning after 1 rounds Monday-Friday
  • Have all staff phone numbers-send out positive messages
  • Have all family members phone numbers-contact them about upcoming activities that their resident is found of
  • Leadership classes/books continue to grow as a leader
  • Help plan and be all signature events for BST family for the community

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,306.86 - $46,132.99 per year
