Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents in our skilled nursing unit. If you have a passion for senior care and enjoy planning and organizing activities, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of engaging activities for residents, including games, crafts, exercise programs, and social events
- Provide one-on-one support to residents who may require additional assistance during activities
- Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and maintain an activity calendar that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents
- Encourage resident participation and engagement in activities to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Assist with setting up and cleaning activity areas before and after each session
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure a positive experience for all
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in skilled nursing or senior care is preferred
- Knowledge of recreational therapy principles and techniques is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with seniors
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
