Under the direction of the Manager of Volunteer Resources, this part-time position is responsible for the supervision of the volunteer programs, After-School Homework Help and Reading Coach.

• Provides outreach and recruitment of After-School Homework Helper and Reading Coach volunteers and reviews volunteer applications for placement.
• Serve as a liaison with volunteer source agencies conducting preliminary telephone screenings, scheduling interviews, conducting interviews, and assessing skills/qualifications.
• Prepares and issues recruitment materials, such as fliers, letters, Web postings, etc., as well as administrative forms.
• Attend Volunteer Information Sessions.
• Plans and delivers regular trainings and orientations including the preparation and updating of training materials.
• Participates in the planning and delivery of volunteer special events.
• Keep track of surveys and evaluation instruments.
• Assist with Volunteer Forums each year.
• Other related assignments.

• Bachelors degree in Education or related field is a plus
• Experience in a leadership role with interns, volunteers, or peers
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Experience working with diverse population
• Be flexible, able to handle multiple competing priorities and tasks, adaptable to change, and able to work effectively in multiple locations
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office; database skills; experience with Raisers Edge software a plus
• Required to work afternoons, evenings and weekends
