About the role
The Brooklyn Museum seeks to appoint an Assistant to support its Institutional Giving department and its work raising funds from foundation and government donors. The Institutional Giving Assistant will fulfill crucial administrative and operational functions. The Assistant will be responsible for data entry in the Museum's CRM, gift processing, prospect research, and copyediting proposals and reports. This position offers an opportunity for a strong writer and highly-organized administrator to learn about institutional fundraising and grow their grant writing and management skills.
Responsibilities
Assist with writing and copyediting grant proposals and reports
Research and prepare briefings on prospective donors
Write and send donor acknowledgment letters
Maintain accurate institutional donor records and reports in Tessitura, the Museum's CRM
Maintain and organize digital donor files
Coordinate gift processing with the development operations department
Work with the finance department to ensure that all grants and grant payments are properly recorded in Tessitura
Assist the Assistant Director and Director in managing appointments, correspondence, and meetings
Staff fundraising events as needed
Qualifications
Excellent expository writing and copyediting skills
Strong communication and research skills
Superb attention to detail
Strong data entry and data management skills
Experience creating and maintaining organizational systems
Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize among competing deadlines
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Experience with CRM systems such as Tessitura is a plus
