Dairy/Frozen Department Manager

Supervises and directs all functions and activities of the Dairy/Frozen Department and its employees. Maintains a neat, clean and visually appealing department while working in a safe manner.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor Dairy storage area for cleanliness, neatness and preparation for next shift.
• Maintain proper staffing to meet projected sales and customer experience needs.
• Ensure pricing and transfers are followed in accordance with Company policy.
• Ensure reclamation or return to stock product procedures are followed in accordance with Company policy.
• Ensure the quality of all product received and secure properly in appropriate storage areas.
• Verify accuracy of all invoices to actual product received.
• Fully stock and rotate all dairy merchandise in cases, shelves, and displays.
• Unloading and transporting merchandise to the Dairy/Frozen Department or refrigerated storage area.
• Be alert to temperatures and operating condition of refrigerated storage areas and cases; promptly communicate any problems or failure to the Store Manager.
• Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Be knowledgeable of the various types of dairy products; including taste, preparation method or use, price differences, etc.
• Utilize and maintain equipment and report any equipment problems immediately.
• Perform all duties in accordance with the Company rules, policies, safety requirements, and security standards and all Local, State and Federal Health and civil code regulations.
• Understand and adhere to Company shrink guidelines as relates to Dairy Department operations.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized department.
• When required, price items accurately and legibly using approved price marking devices.
• Knowledgeable about location of items in the store.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Lead associates to work cooperatively while encouraging enthusiasm, loyalty and creativity.
• Encourage and recognize associates with high performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk the duration of scheduled shift.
• Ability to repeatedly bend, twist, reach, push, pull, squat and stretch during a shift
• Frequently use both hands to grab, grasp, lift, pull, push and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly twisting torso to properly position body weight.
• Ability to climb ladder to retrieve items from overhead racking and storage areas.
• Ability to work in refrigerated coolers and high moisture rooms for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Regularly provide face to face customer service.
