Reports to: Director of Special Education, Jess Bolduc Responsibilities: To help reduce or eliminate speech, language, and hearing impairments that interfere with learning, and provide direct service to meet individual needs of speech, language, and hearing impaired students? serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for language, oral and/or assisted communication and speech/language? maintains efficient records including the preparation of reports as required by local and district policy Ability to:? communicate effectively with teachers, students, administration, parents/guardians, doctors, and other professionals in the community who are involved with the students? solve practical problems with students and staff? understand and carry out oral and written directions? identify, analyze, solve and organize work to meet deadlines Knowledge of:? all areas of speech, language and aural rehabilitation? assistive technologies? effective use of computer and relevant educational software applications? interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy Education Degree in communication disorders DESE licensure: Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders (Levels: All)
