Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree (Education or Early Childhood preferred) · 
• Clearance through New York State Central Registry and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services · 
• First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Responding to Emergency (RTE) certification, or ability to obtain within 3-6 months · 
• Proficiency in English required; proficiency in a second language preferred · 
• Two years of experience working in a day care, pre-school, or special education setting preferred 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Follow all OSHA requirements · 
• Assist Program Director or Program Coordinator with the development of program goals and early childhood activities · 
• Assist in preparation of lesson plans in compliance with ACD regulations · 
• Create a nurturing and supportive environment for children · 
• Implement various early childhood educational, recreational and social activities that foster development and growth · 
• Engage children in team building activities · 
• Assist an individual child or group of children with dressing and toilet training; change diapers; ensure sanitary conditions · 
• Provide classroom management · 
• Attend regular staff meetings · 
• Attend training sessions and workshops on early childhood education · 
• Meet monthly with program coordinator and/or program director for supervision · 
• Act as a liaison with parents · 
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Good writing skills
• Ability to work with infants and preschool children from the ages of 0-5 years
