BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors, we feed, shelter, teach, and support our neighbors to build a stronger community. We have 60 locations throughout the borough providing a variety of programs that offer assistance in the areas of family, children and youth support, educational services, elder care, homelessness, mental health, and workforce development. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a community representative of BronxWorks Twin Parks West Community Services Program with demonstrated enthusiasm for and willingness to initiate contact and engage with the community to market the program through various platforms (i.e., in person, remote meetings, social media and online platforms)
  • Provide support for outreach and recruit residents to promote and share program services with the goal of successfully recruiting and enrolling targeted residents into the Twin Parks West Community Services Program
  • Distribute information and demonstrate tact and diplomacy in representing the program
  • Assist in planning and implementation of events
  • Support coordination of community activities (i.e., computer lab assistance)
  • Participate in meetings 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or (GED) preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • One year of related work experience doing outreach or other related work experience. 
  • Community resident-focused, culturally competent, high energy, empathetic, flexible, and hard-working a must.
  • Expected to report to work punctual and demonstrate good attendance
  • Must be flexible, with availability to work a rotational schedule which may include weeknights and Saturdays
  • Excellent ability to multitask and good attention to detail
  • Quick thinking and problem-solving skills 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work well in a team and individually
  • Working knowledge of relevant computer applications with data entry skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, database management and other standard business technology is required.
  • Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, or climb stairs for periods at a time
  • Good physical strength and ability to drag 80 pounds and lift at least 40 pounds
