As an Assistant General Manager at Broken Yolk Cafe, you'll work closely with the General Manager to support the daily operations and management of the restaurant. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the establishment. Here's a typical job description for an Assistant General Manager:

  • Operational Support: Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including food preparation, service, cleanliness, and customer experience. Fill in for the General Manager when necessary and provide support in managing day-to-day activities.
  • Staff Management: Help recruit, train, and manage restaurant staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and support personnel. Provide guidance and support to ensure that employees understand their roles and responsibilities and perform effectively.
  • Customer Service: Uphold high standards of customer service and hospitality. Address customer inquiries, complaints, or concerns promptly and ensure that all guests have a positive dining experience.
  • Financial Management: Assist in managing the restaurant's budget and expenses, including labor costs, food costs, and overhead expenses. Help implement strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Inventory Control: Assist in managing inventory levels and ordering supplies to ensure that the restaurant operates smoothly. Monitor inventory usage and minimize waste to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with the kitchen staff to maintain the quality and consistency of food offerings. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with food safety standards and company policies.
  • Training and Development: Support the training and development of restaurant staff to enhance their skills and performance. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to promote professional growth and improve team effectiveness.
  • Shift Supervision: Oversee restaurant operations during scheduled shifts, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and that staff members adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Vendor Relations: Assist in managing relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality products at competitive prices. Coordinate with vendors to resolve any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Support marketing initiatives and promotional activities to attract customers and increase sales. Help implement marketing strategies, including social media campaigns, promotions, and special events.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including food safety standards, labor laws, and licensing requirements. Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation as needed.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the General Manager, staff members, and other stakeholders. Keep the General Manager informed of operational issues, successes, and opportunities for improvement.

As an Assistant General Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the overall success of the Broken Yolk Cafe by assisting in the management of operations, staff, and customer service while upholding the restaurant's standards of quality and excellence.
