 As the Front Desk Supervisor, you will supervise Front Desk operations to ensure consistently delivered exceptional customer service to Guests. Provide Team Members with assistance with guest inquiries. The Assistant Front Desk Manager interacts with Guests and contributes to the first impressions of our guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Supervise accurate and efficient Front Desk operations including check in/out procedures
  • Support Team Members in handling Guest requests and inquiries to ensure a positive outcome
  • Ensure the Operations Manager is fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and/or other departments
  • Ensure a consistent, high level of customer service
  • Understand and apply correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with the hotel credit policy
  • Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the Front Office & Bistro Team with an emphasis on training and teamwork
  • Ensure Team Members have current knowledge of all room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, local area and other general product knowledge necessary to perform their duties
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics to inspire Team Members to meet and exceed standards
  • Act in accordance with the front of house equipment and the property management systems
  • Carry out shift pass downs and brief team members as required
  • Complete all required Marriott online training 
  • Follow company brand standards
  • Assist other departments, as necessary, and maintain good working relationships with hotel team members
  • Monitor shift reports and conduct an audit of the banks at the end of each shift
  • Maintain the appearance of the lobby, bistro, and front desk
  • Identify and recommend solutions to the front office team member and office issues or problems
  • Encourage Team Members to deep clean and organize the front desk and lobby on a daily basis
  • Maintain adequate front office supplies
  • Serve as a back-up for bistro and front office team members as needed, including lunches, vacations, illnesses, etc.
  • Attend periodic trainings and front office staff meetings
  • Maintain excellent communications skills
  • Act as a point of reference for guests who need assistance or information
  • Understand guests needs and provide them with personalized solutions by suggesting activities and facilities provided by the hotel
  • Acquire extensive knowledge of the premises and the nearby venues and businesses to make the most suitable recommendations
  • Make reservations and assist in reservation questions
  • Cover MOD shifts when needed
  • Must be trained in all functions of the front desk including AM, PM, and Audit
  • Assist in the training process
  • Assist in the disciplinary process
