GENERAL SUMMARY:

A unique opportunity exists to join a team in creating a vibrant senior learning community on the campus of Purchase College, State University of New York. The residents of this university-based retirement community will be able to enjoy the many amenities of the college including the renowned Neuberger Museum of Art, the Performing Arts Center, the academic and athletic facilities, and the park-like campus. POSITION SUMMARY:

Seeking a highly experienced facilities supervisor with a strong background in facilities management to join our team. The facilities supervisor assists with all aspects of the property’s maintenance including the grounds, preventative, corrective, deferred and emergency response and planning. This person is also responsible for overseeing an effective maintenance program to protect and maintain the property. The successful candidate will have extensive building preventive maintenance experience including but not limited to HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical/electrical, plumbing, grounds etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of eight employees.
  • The supervisor is responsible for all maintenance of the buildings and grounds in accordance with standards.
  • Keep the buildings in a clean and orderly condition by examining the building on a regular basis for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Prepares technical documents such as agreements and contracts for services used by and/or provided by the department.
  • Arrange for general building repairs.
  • Continually and urgently communicate with Director of Plant Operations regarding any operational deficiencies or system malfunctions.
  • Oversees and coordinates work with outside contractors.
  • Responsible for the ordering and inventory of maintenance supplies
  • Complete, coordinate, and prioritize all aspects of mechanical maintenance, shutdowns, projects, new equipment installation, upgrades, equipment repair etc.
  • Maintain and gain relevant knowledge while keeping abreast of technological advances and necessary changes for maximized operating efficiency.
  • Capable of communicating with all departments in the community including residents.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Occasional need to work early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays. Be on an on-call weekend rotation.
  • Maintain facility and records to ensure compliance with company standards and all federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Provide guidance and direction to other facilities employees in the proper procedures of operations, repair, and maintenance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Salary Range for this opportunity is $34.00 - $36.00 per hour.
