Broadstep Behavioral Health is Hiring a Peer Support Specialist - ACTT Near Gastonia, NC

Job Description:
Broadstep Behavioral Health Inc. is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to serve as the leader of our treatment team that provides direct clinical care to adults and children in our community based and in-home care programs in North Carolina. This position works closely with other clinical members of a defined team and serves an integral role in the treatment of patients in the behavioral health continuum.

Broadstep has been a leader in providing a continuum of physical, emotional, and mental support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), mental illness, and co-occurring disorders for over 45 years. Broadstep’s North Carolina services include a wide array of mental health and substance use programs and services. The services provided are community-based, outpatient therapy, and crisis services to serve people where they are.
North Carolina programs are CARF accredited and are focused on the concept of whole person care and wellness.

Schedule & Location: (FT/M-F 8am-5pm; Community Based)

Job Duties:
  • Identify with consumers as a person in mental health recovery in a manner that is supportive and encouraging
  • Establish supportive, therapeutic rapport with the service recipients;
  • Communicate and provide information as to the purpose of peer support and recovery models
  • Intentionally share their Recovery Story as appropriate to assist service recipients, providing hope, safety, trust and opportunity in promoting adaptive life skill and behaviors
Required Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years
  • Stong Documentation Skills
  • Ability to Analyze Detailed Information
  • Strong Verbal Communication Skills
Required License/Credentials:
  • Peer Support Certification
