Broadcast Management Group is Hiring a Live Broadcast Audio Engineer Near WASHINGTON, DC

Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is a full-service media production company that provides managed services and live News, Sports, music, and Entertainment production. BMG is looking for an A1 who will operate BMG’s Yamaha QL5 audio consoles for live and live-to-tape broadcasts at our Washington, D.C., facility. The A1 must have strong skills in live audio mixing, including handling several mix minuses for IFBs, coms, and troubleshooting talent in the studio or remotely—experience with RTS intercom systems with an understanding of Rvon, Omneo and Dante. Must have extensive experience mixing for live sporting events, and some knowledge of remote audio or remi workflow is a plus. This position will also plan the audio for a new client build-out broadcast facility build-out and live productions front of house sound systems. The Live Broadcast Engineer will also set the company-wide standards for audio production including training staff on best practices. Knowledge and experience on Dolby Digital and Atmos surround workflow is also a plus.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Set the company standard regarding best practices in mixing live audio
• Design/build front-of-house systems for large venues
• Design/build audio systems for new client broadcast facilities
• Design/build audio systems for REMI trucks and interfacing with the BMG Cloud Control Center™
• Designing and Building audio systems for new client broadcast facilities and for upcoming live broadcast
• Train new freelance and full time audio staff
• Operate the studio’s Yamaha QL5 audio board and maintain appropriate audio levels
• Mixing audio for live broadcasts
• Create plan and implement mic placement and work with remote or venue A2 to implement plan
• Mic all talent and test audio levels prior to each production
• Test and QC audio levels for pre-produced video content prior to live broadcasts
• Building RTS intercom matrix’s
Requirements:

• Must have theoretical knowledge and understanding of Analog and Digital Audio including but not limited to AES3, Dante, ADAT and Madi
• Must have experience working in a live production environment
• Experience with Dante audio
• Experience with RTS and Unity
• Experience mixing for live sporting events and/or news production
• 5 years of relevant experience
