We're looking for an experienced Manager of Software Engineering to lead a team of 9 full-stack engineers, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. The perfect candidate should possess hands-on engineering abilities, excellent client facing communication skills, a proven track record of project delivery, adaptability, commitment to learning, alignment with company values, innovative thinking, and strong organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of 9 software engineers in achieving a high level of technical excellence and stability
• Expect to allocate 50% of your time towards hands-on engineering tasks, such as code reviews, architectural design, prototyping, and troubleshooting, alongside your managerial duties
• Deliver new and support existing end-to-end capabilities that consist of customer-facing and underlying platform services
• Lead the team to try out ideas and learn fast through rapid experimentation
• Work with architects, product managers and other managers to deliver capabilities that provides the best experience for our customers
• Manage and motivate a junior to mid level engineering team.
• Maintain high standards for operational excellence and engineering rigor through unit tests, functional tests and performance tests
• Review plans, code, and provide technical guidance to your engineers

We’d love to chat if you have:

• BS in Computer Science or Engineering
• 2 years managing engineers in a SaaS environment
• 8 years in software development, focusing on Microsoft C#, SQL Server and Kotlin.
• Expertise in cloud tech (preferably AWS)
• Strong preference for experience with React Native
• Strong collaboration skills with internal and external customers
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, make tough decisions, and prioritize
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality products regularly
• Experience in agile scrum development
• Proficiency in leading complex problem-solving in distributed systems
• Experience in the payments industry or building payment applications
• Experience leading Engineers through complex problem-solving in large scale distributed systems, performance optimization, and high-availability systems
• Experience with more advanced or cutting edge technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Serverless Architectures, AI/ML frameworks, Advanced Cloud Services)

Pay: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
