WE ARE LOOKING FOR A Sr. Engineer / Sr. Engineer Technologist

SENIORITY LEVEL: Junior Level

LOCATION: Winston Salem, NC

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES 

This role is part of Engineering

The role is responsible for This position manages technical related projects, with emphasis on providing technical leadership for functional area or specific engineering field of expertise. The role proactively initiates and drives projects or segments of projects consistent with RAI strategic business and continuous improvement plans; develops project proposals, scopes, and implementation plans ensuring appropriate partner participation and holistic process approach; and aligns with resources across the organization to ensure delivery of results. The role serves as a technical resource to broader organization, providing technical information, mentorship, and engineering recommendations that support broader project initiatives and technical training requirements, and may lead or coordinate the work of others.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR 

  • Showed strength in functional processes, technology, and engineering practices.
  • Engage with internal business partners to ensure that technical decisions are based on the broad vision of the organization and achieve optimum results.
  • Develop and ensure appropriate timelines, breakthroughs, cost estimates, and project objectives are achieved
  • Identify, evaluate, specify, and select appropriate technologies, vendors, and construction services consistent with short-term and long-term requirements
  • Assist with discussions with third party suppliers and equipment manufacturers in the development, evaluation, coordination, and resolution of issues.
  • Ensure project evaluations and implementations are in line with economic, personnel, environmental, product quality, machine performance, and engineering related requirements.
  • Identify and drive innovative solutions to address business/process opportunities and issues.
  • Develops partnership with external vendors, agencies, suppliers, and service providers to drive business success and enhance effectiveness of processes.

CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?  

  • Have you held a project engineering role in a manufacturing environment for at least two years?
  • Do you have the ability to work independently and are you self-motivated?

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE 

  • Understanding of engineering practices, standards, design principles, and environmental requirements
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and packaging of consumer goods
  • Project management skills with the ability to lead or support the execution of projects
  • Proven ability to lead a multi-functional team
  • Proven track record to work efficiently, be pro-active, and communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Proficiency in digital literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
  • Sr. Engineer: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or: Licensure as a Professional Engineer, with 2 years of dynamic experience.
  • Sr. Engineering Technologist: Associate Degree in Engineering or related field with 2 years of progressive experience or; 5 years of relevant progressive work experience in a technical field.

BENEFICIAL  

  • Engineering experience within a regulated environment.
  • Paper Making experience a plus.
