British Swim School is Hiring a Lifeguard Near Orchard, NY

The Position:
British Swim School of Buffalo is looking for a lifeguard at our Fox Run at Orchard Park location.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment at the facility.
  • Explain and enforce rules to ensure the safety of swimmers and bystanders.
  • Respond to emergencies and attend to swimmers at risk.
  • Perform first aid procedures as needed.
  • Maintain records and reports of incidents occurring at the pool.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students’ parents and/or guardians.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as determined by business needs.
  • Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 4 consecutive hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
  • Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s). Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
  • Enthusiastic personality.
  • Reliable.
  • Must complete British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children.
  • Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred.
  • Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.

Compensation: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the “Survival of the Littlest.”
