Overview

A newborn care specialist is sought for a busy professional in San Juan Capistrano, CA. Baby’s due date is the end of October 2024, and the schedule will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday nights from 7pm-7am, and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday days from 8am-2pm. The contract will run for 4 months, with a possible extension if things feel like a good fit. Mom will be going back to work after 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
• Implementing an effective sleep routine that mom can follow once the term ends
• Sleep conditioning baby so that baby is ideally sleeping through the night by the end of the contract term
• Providing practical tools to enable mom to keep baby on schedule during the day, thus setting baby up for success at night, and vice versa
• Be willing to travel with the family, if required
• Provide recommendations on items for the nursery/baby
• Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby care, while respecting the family’s personal preferences
• Full-charge care, when required (particularly after 3 months)
• Light housekeeping related to baby and oneself

Qualifications

• Must ideally have at least 5 years' verifiable experience working as a newborn care specialist
• Must have experience working nights
• Ideally have read/have an affinity with the book “Bringing up Bebé” 

Requirements

• US passport, Green Card or EAC 
• Ideally be local to San Juan Capistrano, CA
• COVID vaccinated and up to date on Flu/RSV/Tdap and MMR vaccinations
• Passport ready and willing to travel, if required 
• Trustline registered (or willing to register ASAP) 
• Available to start at the end of October and commit to the full contract term of 4 months, ideally with the capacity to potentially stay on in a longer-term capacity
• Must be comfortable working in an environment with pets (cats and dogs)
