Bristol Tennessee City School System is Hiring an Assistant Principal - Middle School Near Tennessee, TN

This is a full-time, 12-month position that includes benefits for the 2024 - 2025 school year. The candidate must hold a valid Tennessee instructional leadership endorsement. INTERNAL applicants must fully complete their application. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS At least three years’ successful teaching experience required with administrative experience preferred.Must hold valid Tennessee instructional leadership endorsementSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO Principal JOB GOAL To assist the middle school principal with daily administration of programs by providing leadership that promotes the educational development of each student. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Administers student disciplinary processes by investigating and resolving issues that arise. Work with other school leaders and staff to ensure all issues are handled fairly and consistently, and ensures any records concerning student behavior and actions taken are documented according to district guidelines.Assists the principal in the supervision, evaluation, and coordination of certificated and classified staff as assigned to the departments of responsibility.Works with students and parents to maintain acceptable student attendance.Assists with plans and procedures for emergency drills and administration of the school safety plan.Assists in awards day and class night activities.Assists in the scheduling of students.Attends weekly administrative staff meetings.Attends school events as the designed school administrator on a rotating basis with other school leaders.Works cooperatively with appropriate system-wide personnel in finding solutions to student attendance problems.Consults with guidance personnel, teachers, system-wide staff, and community agencies in seeking solutions to student, school, family, and community problems.Assists in the maintenance of instructional equipment.Assists with keeping the building in good condition and conducive to student learning.Performs such other duties as may reasonably be prescribed by the principal or his/her designee. Ability to reason and make judgments.Verbal: Ability to understand meanings of words and the ideas associated with them.Numerical: Ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.Manual Dexterity: Ability to move the hands easily and manipulate small objects with the fingers.Form Perception: To make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes and shadings of figures.Color Discrimination: Ability to perceive or recognize similarities or differences in colors or shades or other values of the same color.
