Bristol Hose and Fitting is Hiring a Parts Counter Sales Near Village, IL

Bristol Hose & Fitting is looking for individuals that want to be part of a winning team and have the desire to have the ability to work up through the company. We are a steadily growing family run business that emphasizes from promoting from within and enjoys seeing our employees learn new skills and growing their careers. We are a premier Parker Hannifin distributor with 2 ParkerStore locations.

To better serve our Two ParkerStore locations (Melrose Park and Elk Grove Village) we are looking for team members that can work directly with our customers each day making hydraulic hose assemblies for them while they wait. We are like a typical auto parts or truck parts type retail store where customers bring in their broken part (in this case a hose) and then our team members get the parts out of our warehouse and assemble the new hose with those parts. This is a fast-paced job where you will always keep busy but you will get to interact with new people every day. We service a wide variety of hoses, adapters, quick couplers, air conditioning parts, and high-performance race car plumbing materials.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Working one-on-one with walk-in customers, understanding their needs, and offering solutions.
  • Understanding the conceptual aspect of what the customer is looking for
  • Searching and identifying the parts utilizing paper or online catalogs and taking measurements with thread caliper or digital calipers.
  • Building custom hydraulic hose assemblies based on the sample given or description of hose needed.
  • Inputting orders on the computer system, closing sales and processing credit card transactions.
  • Communicating via phone or email with customers and other staff members.
  • Picking parts from automated parts machine
  • Packing parts to prepare for shipping

Skills and Experience for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Technical abilities are a plus
  • Good communication skills in English (Spanish/Polish are a plus)
  • Ability to learn and understand the products we sell and service
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measure, thread gauge, and digital calipers.
  • Ability to operate certain tools such as large cut off saws, hydraulic hose press, and small hand tools.
  • Ability to input transactions in the computer and become familiar with our ERP system.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work well with others in the group.

Working Conditions:

Eight to ten-hour workdays are required during the week. Additional hours and overtime may be required. This position may require occasional Saturday work, on a regular rotation basis.

Pay:

Compensation is negotiable and it comes with great earning potential. Commensurate with relevant work experience and technical abilities.

Salary: $17-20 per hour starting based on experience
