3. General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates anger management and behavioral programs offered to the inmate population. This individual is responsible for scheduling programs, complete staff orientations and communicate with vendors, community providers and BCSO departments. The Coordinator for anger management and behavioral programs evaluates programs, completes surveys, and monitors vendor contracts. This individual enrolls inmates in programs and services, facilitates groups, maintain organized data related to programs and assessment tools, ensures timely submission of data, attends supervision meetings, complies with grant reporting requirements, participates in trainings and professional development programs, and performs other program and services related duties as requested. The Coordinator for Anger Management and Behavioral programs works under the Assistant Director of Inmate Services for Recidivism-Reducing Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular, written documentation and other record keeping in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with all staff, including security in order to enhance the inmates institutional adjustment, rehabilitation and reintegration
  • Works with staff to schedule, coordinate, manage, generate, and provide fair and consistent programs, reentry, and social services
  • Researches, monitors, collaborates, guides and documents the groups offered by contractual providers, volunteers and staff delivering anger management, domestic violence, motivation to change, thinking for change, behavior modification, compulsive behavior, sex offenders’ programming and other related programs
  • Manage a safe and healthy work environment by coordinating with classification, reentry staff and other departments the implementation of programs and social services
  • Recognizes special needs and deliver services by attending classes, seminars, and meetings on behalf of the sheriff and staff, as directed by the Assistant Director of Inmate for Recidivism-Reducing Programs.
  • Meets regularly with contractual providers and staff, community providers and support staff, to coordinate, collaborate and assist with reentry planning, measure recidivism, collect data and implement programs and services
  • The Coordinator for Anger Management and Behavioral programs works with the Education and Vocation department, Dialectic Behavioral Units ; Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) / Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Program ; Classification Counselors, Inmate Case Workers, Inmate Advisors, Volunteer Coordinator, community stakeholders, and others, to develop collaborative partnerships geared to identify common goals and develop continuation of services and evidence based programs to reduce recidivism
  • Offers group work and meets with inmates to implement and review treatment plans, reentry planning, and measure progress, complete assessments, review behavior contracts, and other aspects of treatment, programs and social services
  • The Coordinator for Anger Management and Behavioral programs will be required to modify their work schedule when requested or necessary to carry out work duties and responsibilities.
  • Evaluates contractual providers, programs, and services, collects, organizes and submits data for tracking success of participants and monitoring of program outcomes.
  • Researches, develops, collaborates and coordinates evidence based programs and social services that facilitates the reintegration of inmates that present with special needs.
  • Offers orientation to vendors, community providers and others, and maintains organized records, folders and annual trainings
  • Monitors and audit inmates’ treatment records to ensure that services are being carried out.
  • Performs any tasks requested or assigned by the Assistant Director of Inmate for Recidivism-Reducing Programs.
  • Works with Grants Administrator to collect, evaluate and report data to the funding agency and other relevant agencies.
  • Participates, investigates and submits tests, surveys, assessments tools and other indicators to collect data and measure recidivism
  • Performs other related duties as designated by the Sheriff of Bristol County.

7. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • Knowledge of the components of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Social Learning Theory of Behavior and other psychological behavioral theories and approaches.
  • Understanding of anger management techniques, theories and approaches
  • Ability to prepare effective, concise, and accurate written reports
  • Experience in corrections, criminal justice field or community service agency a plus.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in collaborative manner with corrections personnel, inmates, and community agencies.
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Internet Searches.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $63,022.70 - $76,412.77 per year
