Village Public Safety Officer Program Manager
OBJECTIVE: Maintain oversight of all aspects of the partnering grant agreement with the Alaska Department of Public Safety (DPS) and appropriate local governing authorities to deliver a regionally managed quality Village Public Safety Officer Program.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must demonstrate the ability to accomplish the Essential Job Results stated below. Job knowledge required: Two years related post secondary education plus two years office management experience including budget and supervisory duties. Additional years experience as a VPSO or law enforcement officer may substitute post secondary education at discretion of BBNA. Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Familiarity with Bristol Bay region, people and cultures. Computer skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with village councils, State Troopers and other agencies.
Must be committed to the concept of the VPSO program and to maintaining community involvement and support.
Willing/ able to travel often/ overnight.
