Role: Solution Architect (Application Remediation and Modernization for Azure Cloud Migration)

Brillio seeking a talented and hands-on Solution Architect to lead the application remediation and modernization efforts for migrating on-premises applications and databases(Oracle to PostgreSQL) into the Azure cloud. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing existing applications, identifying areas for improvement, and architecting solutions to optimize performance, scalability, and reliability in the Azure cloud environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the assessment and analysis of existing on-premises applications and databases to identify dependencies, technical debt, and areas for modernization.

2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand application requirements, business objectives, and migration goals.

3. Develop and execute remediation and modernization strategies for legacy applications, including refactoring, rearchitecting, or rebuilding components to align with cloud-native principles and best practices.

4. Architect scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions for deploying and managing applications in the Azure cloud, leveraging services such as Azure App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Functions.

5. Design data migration strategies and implement best practices for migrating on-premises databases to Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, or other Azure data services.

6. Define architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices for cloud-native application development and deployment on the Azure platform.

7. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, guiding them in the adoption of cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering principles.

8. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure applications meet regulatory requirements and security standards in the Azure cloud environment.

9. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure visibility and reliability of applications running in the Azure cloud.

10. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the performance, scalability, and agility of applications in the cloud.

Qualifications:

1. bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) preferred.

2. Proven experience as a hands-on Architect or Senior Software Engineer with expertise in application modernization and cloud migration projects.

3. In-depth knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure cloud services and solutions.

4. Strong experience with application development frameworks, programming languages, and tools, such as .NET, Java, Python, Node.js, Docker, and Kubernetes.

5. Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, microservices, serverless computing, and containerization technologies.

6. Experience with database migration and modernization techniques, including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases.

7. Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail.

8. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

9. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence and inspire teams to achieve technical excellence and business objectives.

10. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
