The Software Engineer works within a scrum team to implement business objectives. An advocate for the best approach highlighting the advantages, risks, and disadvantages the Software Engineer will work collaboratively with the team to meet commitments and support successful delivery of features, enhancements, and fixes to existing code. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing new features and functionality for our client-facing application and maintain and improve existing systems.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs analysis of the requirements and suggests the best approach highlighting the advantages, risks, disadvantages etc.
• Leverages an extensive understanding of software programming patterns and principles to create high-quality features.
• Leads high level design and technical architecture activities to define overall software design, including requirements reviews, architectural proof of concepts and creation of design artifacts.
• Performs logical and physical design of system components such as database, server architecture and communications frameworks.
• Designs software components based on documented requirements.
• Provides inputs on the overall software design and architecture
• Codes and unit tests both framework and functional software components
• Trouble-shoots and corrects software defects
• Works collaboratively to identify and resolve issues impacting software design and delivery
• Defines and maintains team operating standards for such items as SDLC processes, coding standards, code control, issue tracking, time reporting, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and subject matter experts in defining requirements, designing solutions, and architecting the application.
• Professional experience with .NET Framework
• 5 years of professional experience with .NET Core / Standard
• 5 years of professional experience with the C# programming language and Entity Framework
• 5 years with Git and an understanding of Git best practices, concepts, and procedures
• 3 years experience with Visual Studio 2019 and 2022
• 3 years with Azure DevOps
• 3 years with Microsoft Azure
• Expertise in data modeling, T-SQL, and stored procedures
• Web application user interface design and development experience
• Solid in-depth understanding of object-oriented design principles and software patterns
• Complete software development life-cycle experience; General comprehension of software development processes and software configuration management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership and technical skills to ensure on time delivery of quality software

EDUCATION

• B.S. in Computer Science / Software Engineering

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

• 7 years of professional software development experience
• 3 years of professional software design experience

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Limited travel as needed
• Up to 10% or as directed based on the needs of the business and attending job required training and conferences.
