The Lead Eligibility Specialist works within the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) to provide support and assistance to parents and guardians who are requesting childcare services while they work, attend school or seek employment. As a Lead Eligibility Specialist, you will review all CCAP documents and supporting evidence related to parents/guardians receiving assistance through the Illinois Department of Human services (IDHS) and childcare providers receiving payment. The Lead Eligibility Specialist also provides training and coaching to peers on the CCAP processes.

Candidate qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree from an accredited college or university equivalent to social work, customer service, data entry, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in bookkeeping and/or customer service strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates a thorough- knowledge of all aspects of the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft products, required.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle preferred.

Job details:

  • Compensation: Range starts at $18.47/hour; offers are commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3 weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here).
  • Location: Brightpoint Child & Family Center Carpentersville; Required to work out of three sites Palatine, Carpentersville, and Schaumburg
  • Schedule: Full-time, hourly; general business hours. Palatine, Carpentersville, and Schaumburg
  • Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
