About the Brighton Housing Authority:

Since the Brighton Housing Authority’s (BHA’s) incorporation in 1968 it has been the organization’s community role to facilitate the alignment of available resources with community needs through the promotion, management, and development of attainable housing. In addition to BHA’s administration of the city of Brighton’s Section 8 Voucher program, BHA is committed to providing programs and services that address the area's housing needs and related issues.

Job Summary:

The role of the Services Coordinator at the Brighton Housing Authority is to work with BHA clients and community members to provide them with housing navigation support, basic needs assistance, and other support, while working to build and maintain relationships with service providers and community partners. In addition to these responsibilities, the ideal candidate should possess exceptional relationship-building skills, a strong attention to detail, and the capacity to lead with empathy.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Assist Spanish and English-speaking individuals and families seeking assistance with immediate needs requests and work with them to determine options for increased stabilization through connection to appropriate internal services and external referrals, and navigation to other services.
  • Coordinate the implementation of nonprofit programs, initiatives, and projects in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with program managers and staff to ensure effective program delivery, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, and stakeholders seeking assistance or support from the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to program participants, services provided, and outcomes achieved.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, government agencies, and other nonprofit organizations to enhance service delivery and expand resources.
  • Participate in collaborative initiatives and working groups to address community needs and promote collective impact.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School/GED required, bachelor's degree preferred with coursework in human services, social work, psychology, counseling, sociology or related field experience.
  • 2 years of experience in working with housing, case management, and related services.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish trusting, confidential relationships.
  • Knowledge of various community services and resources in the Brighton or Adams County area preferred.
  • Experience with reporting for grants and/or internal organizational purposes.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, compassion, flexibility, and a non-judgmental view of people experiencing crisis.
  • Competency in setting personal and professional boundaries.
  • Excellent organizational, crisis management, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, relate well with others and build collaborations; ability to take direction while participating in a team environment.
  • Must work independently and demonstrate flexibility in managing time.
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and other Microsoft products (HMIS and other database experience also preferred, but not required).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License and vehicle insurance.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • The work requires normal physical activity associated with an office environment.
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Attend Fair Housing Training within 6 months of hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
