Location: Washington, D.C. metro area (District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia) on a hybrid basis. The staff is in-office 3 days per week. Some weekend work and travel may be required
Salary: $120,000-$150,000, commensurate with experience.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
A community-based non-profit organization is seeking a Communications Director. In this role, you will lead the Communications department and be responsible for the ideation and the execution of all strategic communications plans both internally and externally. Day-to-day responsibilities include directing the following: media outreach, public relations, online and electronic communications, video, publications (print and digital), photography, our website and social media accounts. The ideal candidate will be someone who is able to utilize best practices, and new technologies to continue to improve our communications systems.
This is an opportunity for someone with deep communications experience to continue to build a growing team of communicators and lead communications for a values-driven organization that is a pillar of its local community and serves thousands nationally. This person will work hand-in-hand with the organization’s top leadership and will lead, create, manage and scale key communications initiatives and priorities.
