Brightland Homes is Hiring a Purchasing Agent Near Tempe, AZ

The company is currently seeking a Purchasing Agent tosupport the Purchasing Manager in enhancing profits through negotiation, sourcing and process improvements.

General Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a trade base to ensure bidding is done in a competitive manner
  • Review SOW with construction and quickly move to replace a trade that does not meet expectations
  • Analyze subcontractor proposals
  • Complete bid analyses
  • Assist Purchasing Coordinators as needed
  • Review plans for discrepancies and help identify solutions prior to construction start
  • Assist with generation of projected direct costs for future communities
  • Recommend price changes to management to achieve margins
  • Ensure product specification changes are processed
  • Negotiate to receive best pricing
  • Update POs as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in the home building industry
  • Experience using JDE Enterprise One
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Excel
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to multi-task and see projects through to completion
