Essential Functions

  • Draw blood from patients or donors in hospitals, blood banks, clinics, doctor’s offices, or other settings.
  • Assemble, maintain, and sterilize medical instruments such as needles, test tubes, and blood vials.
  • Verify patient or donor identity to ensure proper labeling of the blood.
  • Track collected specimens by labeling, processing, and shipping them to the relevant laboratories for testing.
  • Keep a record of all patient interactions while strictly adhering to confidentiality and other ethical codes.
  • Dispose of blood or biohazardous wastes in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong understanding of proper patient identification, labeling, tracking, and safe handling procedures.
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
  • 18 years old and above
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of reliability and a strong patient-focused approach.
  • Proficient in various computer software programs necessary for the role.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
