Position: Temporary Part-Time Daycare Kitchen and Support Staff

Hours: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm, $13 hourly

Duration: While the current employee is on maternity leave (position has potential to become long term.)

Role Overview: Bright Skies Daycare is seeking a temporary part- time Kitchen staff member to join our team while our current employee is out on maternity leave.

The primary responsibility of the daycare cook is to prepare nutritious meals for the children enrolled in our daycare facility. The Kitchen staff will work under the direction of the facility director, who plans the monthly menu and orders groceries accordingly

.Key Responsibilities:

1. Meal Preparation:- Begin preparing meals upon arrival according to the monthly menu provided by the director.- Ensure all meals are prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations and dietary guidelines.

2. Toy and Furniture:-Ensure all toys and furniture are disinfected.

3. Menu Implementation:- Follow the monthly menu plan provided by the director, ensuring all meals are prepared as specified.

- Adjust meal prep based on dietary restrictions or allergies noted by childcare staff.

- Clear, rinse, and place dishes and silverware in the dishwasher after each meal.

- Wash and disinfect tables and highchairs after every meal.

- Sweep debris from the kitchen and dining area after every meal.

- Perform deep cleaning tasks such as mopping the kitchen and dining area on designated days (Wednesday and Friday).

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Ability to follow recipes and menus accurately.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.- Effective communication skills to collaborate with the facility director and childcare staff.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing dietary needs and preferences.- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods.

- CPR & first aid training (provided by facility)

- Federal and state fingerprinting and background check. (part of onboarding paperwork)- Four state required courses (provided by facility)

- Previous experience in food preparation, preferred.

- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, preferred.

Additional Information:- The menu is planned monthly by the facility director and posted in the kitchen and entry for parents to review.

- Groceries are ordered by the director to accommodate the monthly menu.

- Clean-up tasks are fairly simple and include routine maintenance of the kitchen and dining area.

- The daycare has a low food allergy rate, and precautions within the menu are taken to avoid allergens for children with known allergies.

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
